Truck Crash Injures 20 Year Old in Macon County Missouri. Truck Driver Charged with Multiple Citations
A reckless truck driver who ran a red light on Northbound highway 63 in Macon County on July 11, 2007 caused serious personal injury to twenty year old Angela M. Carter of Kirksville, Missouri. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Franklin L. Bragg of Laplata, Missouri was driving a large truck, a 1987 International truck when he failed to yield before crossing the southbound lane of Missouri Highway 63.
As Ms. Carter's vehicle crossed the intersection, the truck slammed into the left side of Ms. Carter's 1994 Ford Taurus, causing serious personal injuries to Alicia. She was transported by helicopter to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri for treatment.
The truck driver was issued multiple citations, including failure to yield, operating a commercial vehicle without a commercial drivers license, and failure to maintain brakes on a commercial vehicle.
Both drivers were insured by State Farm Insurance Company. The Missouri Highway Patrol, Laplata Missouri Police Department, Macon County Missouri Sheriff's Department, and Laplata Missouri Fire Department all responded to the scene.
